Airport Authority
Central Illinois Regional Airport is owned and operated by the Central Illinois Regional Airport Authority (formerly the Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority). Created in 1964 under the Illinois Airport Authorities Act, the Central Illinois Regional Airport Authority operates as an independent municipality with a seven-member Board of Commissioners. The airport is located in McLean County in the southeastern section of the City of Bloomington. CIRA encompasses approximately 1,950 acres.
As of May 1, 2025, the Bloomington Normal Airport Authority became the Central Illinois Regional Airport Authority assuming all responsibilities and operations of the Bloomington Normal Airport Authority.

Board of Commissioners
There are seven appointed commissioners who oversee operations of the Central Illinois Regional Airport Authority. Two commissioners are appointed by the City of Bloomington, two by the Town of Normal and three by the McLean County Board. The current board is listed below:

Public Act 97-0609 – Total Compensation Packages
As required under this Act, a physical copy of this information for qualifying employees may be accessed at the Central Illinois Regional Airport Authority office, 3201 CIRA Drive, Suite 200, Bloomington, IL, during normal business hours Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. excluding holidays.
