Flights & Airlines

Which airlines fly from CIRA, and where can I fly nonstop?

 Central Illinois Regional Airport is served by Allegiant, American, Delta and United.

Nonstop destinations include:

  • Atlanta (ATL)
  • Chicago–O’Hare (ORD)
  • Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW)
  • Orlando/Sanford (SFB)
  • Tampa/St. Pete (PIE)

American, Delta, and United also offer one-stop connections to hundreds of destinations through their hub airports.

How do I book or confirm my flight?

You can book directly with the airline, through online booking sites (Google Flights, Expedia, Kayak, etc.), a travel agent, or at the airline ticket counter (hours vary).

If you booked through a third-party site, contact them to confirm your reservation. If you booked directly with the airline, contact the airline for confirmation.

What are the baggage fees and what if my bag is lost?

 Each airline sets its own baggage fees and policies. Visit your airline’s website for details:

If your bag does not arrive with you, file a lost luggage claim at your airline’s ticket counter and follow up directly with the airline.

Arrival, Check-In & Security

How early should I arrive at the airport?

 Most airlines recommend arriving at least 90 minutes before departure (2 hours for Allegiant).

  • Boarding typically begins 30 minutes before departure (Always confirm boarding time with your airline.)
  • Check-in and baggage cut-off times vary by airline
  • TSA Security Checkpoint opens at 4:00 a.m.
When does the airport open and when do ticket counters open?

  • Terminal opens at 3:30 a.m.
  • TSA opens at 4:00 a.m.
  • Ticket counter hours vary by airline and close 45 minutes before departure
How can I check my flight status?

Airlines provide flight alerts for delays and cancellations. Make sure your contact information is included in your reservation.

What ID do I need, and does CIRA offer TSA PreCheck?

Accepted identification varies by traveler and destination. View TSA’s current guidelines http://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification

CIRA offers a TSA PreCheck lane for most flights. Availability varies by day and airline.

TSA PreCheck enrollment events are offered several times per year.

Parking & Ground Transportation

Where do I park and how much does it cost?

Parking at CIRA is free, regardless of trip length. Short-term and long-term parking are located directly in front of the terminal.

Does CIRA offer a parking shuttle or wheelchair assistance?

Yes. A complimentary shuttle runs between the long-term lot and terminal and includes a wheelchair lift. Passengers needing wheelchair assistance should arrange services through their airline prior to arrival. Wheelchairs are also available inside the terminal.

What amenities are available at CIRA?

  • Free Wi-Fi (no password required)
  • Mother’s Lounge (near Gate 5)
  • Power outlets at gates
  • Dining and bar options pre- and post-security
  • Pet relief area
  • Public Lounge (pre-security)
  • Gift Shop (post-security, boarding pass required)
Are there smoking areas or currency exchange services?

Smoking is permitted outside the terminal at least 15 feet from entrances. Currency exchange services are not available at this time.

How do I share feedback or file a complaint?

Do you offer flight lessons or hangar rentals?

Flight lessons and hangar rentals are available through airport partners. Please contact Synergy Flight Center or Crosswinds Flying Club for more information — and happy flying!

Dining + Shopping

Is there food/concessions available past the TSA checkpoint?

Yes – Jetstream Restaurant and Radar Bar, at the top of the escalators

    What are the hours for Jetstream Restaurant and Radar Bar (past TSA checkpoint, near gates)?

    Typically open daily from 4:30 a.m. through the last departure of the day.

    What are the hours for Turbo Grill (public side, before the TSA checkpoint)?

    9AM-4PM Sunday through Friday (closed Saturdays)

    Is alcohol served in the Radar Bar?

    Yes, alcohol is served 6AM-2PM
